If you’re slicing your own loaf of challah and want larger pieces, I recommend slicing the loaf at a 45 degree angle. Because challah bread tends to be short and stout, slicing at an angle will give you nice and tall pieces.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- 3 eggs
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoon white sugar
- 1 loaf sliced challah bread
How to make it
- 1. Whisk eggs and milk into a small casserole dish with fork. Slowly whisk in the cinnamon, vanilla extract, sugar and flour until smooth.
- 2. Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium heat.
- 3. Soak bread slices in mixture until saturated. Cook bread on each side until golden brown. Serve hot with toppings of your choice.
